Cup Custard

I created this plating of Cup Custard with the intention of blending tradition, sustainability, and artistic inspiration. To highlight Bangladesh's own natural resource, jute, I placed it beneath the plate and chose a transparent dish to make it visible. Jute is not only an integral part of our heritage but also a sustainable alternative to plastic, which I wanted to subtly incorporate into my presentation. The design of the Cup(nest) is inspired by the Babui Pakhi (Baya Weaver Bird), known for its intricate and artistic nest-making skills. I wanted to reflect that craftsmanship in my dish, celebrating both nature’s beauty and creativity. Through this plating, I aimed to create a meaningful connection between our cultural identity, environmental consciousness, and artistic expression, making it more than just a dessert—a story on a plate.
